Assembly Supervisor

Fristam Pumps USA, a leading manufacturer of pumps and mixers for the food, dairy and pharmaceutical industries located in Middleton, WI has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, results-driven individual to join our Assembly department as the Assembly Supervisor. This hands-on position will be responsible for ensuring the department has adequate resources to meet the company's targets and that all pumps and parts meet company quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; resolving problems
• Establish or adjust work assignments to meet shipping schedules
• Ensure that all departmental equipment and tools are properly maintained; direct the setup and maintenance of test stands and other departmental equipment.
• Establish and maintain standard assembly procedures; develop new assembly processes as needed.
• Create an environment of continuous improvement by ensuring proper training is being done in the department; maintain adequate staffing and proper tools and equipment necessary to ensure workload can be done.
• Review assembly costs including overtime and other budget items; justify new equipment and tool purchases.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications/Experience):
• Post-secondary education in management, business or relevant technical field preferred
• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of process improvement and production standards
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively present information
• Planning, problem-solving and attention to detail.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Design and development of programs and work instructions
• Provide training to machine operators
• Set-up and check routine programs
• Operate manual, NC/CNC machining equipment to perform standard or repetitive sequences of operations to meet close tolerance and finishing requirements

What You Bring with You (Qualifications/Experience):
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education and/or training desired
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience with manual, NC and/or CNC machining equipment and operations
• A solid understanding of programming principles, applications and tooling required
• Proven ability to go from concept to completion with a task and/or project a must
• Knowledge of machine shop practices and techniques, machine operation and tooling required
• Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail
• Must be able to lift 40-45 pounds frequently and sit or stand for long periods of time

Design Engineer

This hands-on position will be responsible for leading design projects from inception to completion for new or special products through conducting critical and complex research on designs.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Establish engineering concepts and organize plan for research, development, design and integration into production.
• Research and design new products according to ISO 9001-2000 design project procedures.
• Create programs or recommend programs for the aid of designing new products.
• Troubleshoot problems in manufacturing area and find solutions to eliminate those problems.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications/Experience):
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in pump manufacturing or similar environment.
• Demonstrated initiative and leadership through present and past job duties, projects, and assignments;
• Possess clear, confident communication, both written and verbal, with a variety of people; and
• Demonstrated capability to initiate and complete projects and plans on-time.

Machining Supervisor

Fristam Pumps USA, a leading manufacturer of sanitary pumps for the food, dairy and pharmaceutical industries located in Middleton, has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, team-focused individual to provide leadership to our machining team, and facilitate machining processes to ensure the achievement of manufacturing, quality, and production objectives. The Machining Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees in a manufacturing environment: planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Works closely with all leaders and employees in the organization to ensure current and future production activities are completed on-time, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensures that equipment and facilities are clean and properly maintained for efficient production.
• Promotes associate growth and development through training and mentoring.
• Utilizes technical knowledge to assist in troubleshooting machine or program related issues; answer machining related questions for both mills and lathes.
• Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing needs, equipment maintenance and selection of equipment, service or vendors.  
• Effectively manages vendor and customer relationships and expectations.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications/Experience):
• A degree in a related field and a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing management role.
• Previous CNC machining experience and the understanding of the machining process.
• Proven ability to improve manufacturing processes; Lean manufacturing techniques a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to grow a department to meet company objectives and growth.
• Previous experience using shop floor control, production planning and inventory control applications.
• Problem resolution and troubleshooting skills.  
• Foster positive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality
• Exhibits strong leadership skills.  Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
