Fristam Pumps USA, a leading manufacturer of pumps and mixers for the food, dairy and pharmaceutical industries located in Middleton, WI has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, detail oriented individual passionate about quality to join our team as a Quality Engineer. This position will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the quality area by providing quality solutions and support to all areas of the company.
What You’ll Be Doing: • Working with the Engineering and the Production teams by establishing and implementing quality control procedures and standards for inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished products stages. • Act as a technical resource for resolving complex quality-related challenges and implementing best practices. • Design workflows and procedures as needed for the department with overall direction set by senior management • Records quality measures and analyzes performance using statistical process control methods • Develops and analyzes quality reports • Reviews Supplier responsibility Non-Conforming Material reports and dispositions of material promptly, working with Engineers and Purchasing as required. • As it relates to quality, lead investigations in response to customer complaints and drive improvements where necessary. • Establish performance metrics to communicate departmental performance and improvement. • Create an environment of continuous improvement by ensuring proper training is being done in the department; maintain proper tools and equipment necessary to ensure workload can be done. • Assists in the budgeting process for the department; justifies new equipment and tool purchases as needed. • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. • Support the Business Management System including ISO Audit Committee activities, 5S activities and workplace scans by actively participating in internal and external audits, arranging internal audits according to schedule, assisting in external audits as requested, preparing timely and accurate audit reports, issuing and closing out findings, elevating issues related to audit findings as needed, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
What You Will Bring with You (Qualifications/Experience): • Advanced knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Statistical Process Control, ISO9001) • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information to various audiences • Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards • Ability to work independently; self-motivated • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Basic knowledge of CMM programming • Tool calibration • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance • Part traceability • Solid understanding of ISO001:2015 standards • In-depth understanding of PPAP, FAI, and calibration management processes • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong aptitude working in an ERP or other related system
